The Beginning of the End

I'm not going to lie. I don't like this time of year. My biggest issue in life is the end. Once you've reached it, I feel so unsatisfied. I know I am not the only one on this issue, but it just sucks. Example: one of my favorite past-times (which I haven't done in a long time) is watch a trilogy, saga, or legacy (if that is what you call the next set after a saga) in a day if possible. The only problem is I feel upset when it's over, because I must go back to reality.

Do I really belong here? In this form of being? I don't necessarily believe in past lives, but more of an understanding of a drive to be apart of another time or dream. Heck even another form of reality. The closest parallel dimension is only a, in theory, millimeter away from your exact location right now. What exists on that other side? I do hope to find out one day. Back to my bashing of this time of year. The general public tend to get way too stressed for a holiday meant to be about loving one another. People should slow down and breath again. It's our journey that makes life worth living.

November's Bounty

So I am working as an EMT now. Got a couple of freelance gigs going on. Deciding whether to sell the house or work harder to make more money. Haven't painted in a while, but I am working on sketches. Will post art soon. Thanks for listening.

October's Harvest

The Guardian at the Falls
As we move into my favorite time of the year, I like to look back how the year has been overall. The beginning of the year started with me going back to school to become an EMT. I lost my job as a graphic designer at a company that didn't appreciate me looking for another career due to their hostile work environment. My love for art has kept me in the field of design, but I was only in it for art. I haven't had the easiest time setting aside time for my art, both because I want to entertain myself and lack of inspiration. I am currently working on a children's book and getting back into painting for next year's new pieces. On the 13th of this month Living Arts is hosting Momentum (Artshow for artist under 30 years). My art was fortunate enough to make it once again into the show. Their choice of 3 of my submissions was not what I expected but so be it. I create for myself and need no explanation. Until next month, talk with you then! Thanks for listening

Always loving, always caring, always worrying, and always sharing your knowledge. I wouldn't trade you for any other mother in the world and I truly miss not living with you. You have such an exciting life and hope you have the time to document every last detail.

Easter Island Music Festival

A new friend of mine, since this time last year, is holding his 3rd new annual music festival. His name is Cody Brewer, you may know him from his band Grazzhopper, plays at the Treehouse (1738 S. Boston Tulsa, OK) and The Colony (2809 S. Harvard Ave Tulsa, OK). The festival this month is taking place on the 13th & 14th. I attended as a vendor last year and had an awesome time. You can find some mind blowing local music, interesting artwork, and great workshops on sustainable living & health. The festival is being held at Valley Sports Complex just East of Owasso, OK. You can purchase tickets online.

Info below was pulled from the website - http://easterislandfestival.com

Directions from Downtown Tulsa: North on HWY 75 –> East on HWY 20 –> South on Keetonville Rd. > Easter Island Festival.

Hosted by Tulsa based band The Moai Broadcast, Easter Island features Tulsa’s best original acts plus some regional favorites. Occurring in April, it will be a celebration of the transition into the spring season, mother earth, and the beginning to the 2012 festival season. Drawing on some successful talent from the first two Easter Island’s there will be many new flavors added to the lineup and an all new venue with plenty of room to jam, celebrate, and congregate.

The Moai Broadcast is challenging all perceived conceptions of what music is to be and is also attempting to break the conventional when it comes to musical expression. Conventional wisdom has bands playing in bars, soliciting record labels, recording albums, etc… The Moai Broadcast wants to create a memorable experience at each and every show. They want to build an experience that isn’t just created by the band but is created by everyone involved.  That is why EIF was created. It is important for The Moai to create a place where folks can congregate and enjoy all the special things that surround music. A place that feels like a retreat.  A concert that takes you to another world.  A complete experience that will grab your memories and never let go.

The artwork included this month is a variation of the Official Limited Edition Art Poster for sale at the festival. Hope to see you all there! Thanks for reading and catch'ya next month!

Another year on Earth

Today is my birthday. I am now 28 years old. That is why I have waited to post this month's blog entry. I focus my spare time on my artwork. Being an artist is tough. For one, I don't know what I am suppose to do besides create artwork. I can't seem to find a career and no one seems to give me a chance to work with them and to simply grow as an artist. Whether that be designer, illustrator, photographer. It just doesn't feel right to not hold onto my passion. Lately, my duties have kept me too busy and I haven't dedicated my time to my art. I am studying to be an EMT so that I can have extra time. EMT is a very interesting profession that looks to be very demanding. I know I can offer my service to this profession because I feel strong enough to handle most chaotic situations.

I miss art very much. I wish I could create everyday and not worry about everyday worries. My artwork is a collection of thoughts placed on a canvas. That is the only way I can describe it. It is never very realistic because I am not that good, so I keep it fairly light hearted in theme. The images I paint usually brings a smile to my face because I cannot believe I have just created such a piece. Each painting stays with me for a while, call it some sort of attachment syndrome if you will, but it's real. Some pieces I think are done are later revamped to completion. So I really have no time frame on my artwork. That's not to say I don't like to feel the pressure of an on coming art-walk or festival. These pieces, created in a rush, always turn out some surprising results.

So here's to another year on Earth. May it bring inspiration and new opportunities to follow my passion.

You can find my artwork for sale on my Society6 website - society6.com/CEFrusherArtwork

Thanks for listening and catch you here next month!

The Artworld

Afternoon everyone. Just to catch everyone up to speed I'm spending this year as a time to promote myself on the World Wide Web. I'm looking for websites that can help me sell my artwork or at least promote it. That way I may do more of it to show everyone. Recent works have been for a couple of local bands and a design agency. Yesterday I shipped my Sketchbook back to NY to have it be part of the 2012 Art Tour. I've purchased this year's book and can't wait to be a part of it all. You may find my account and view my past Sketchbook via this link below

For more local events, yesterday was the last day to get my art submitted to OKC Momentum 2012 show. Keeping my fingers cross, I'll have a piece selected to be in their show. I'll know the results later this month. The show will take place Friday & Saturday March 9th & 10th. Depending on my schedule I may or may not be able to make it, due to prior engagements. Look forward to another year of awesomeness. Feel free to ask any questions or concerns. Thanks for listening and stay tuned!

In this Beginning

Hello everyone. My name is Cody Frusher and I am here to share with you my life and work. I am an Oklahoma artist, who is continually learning and testing new ideas. My goal is to always be a positive influence and make a difference in someone's life. This blog will contain information mainly about my artwork as I am working on it, finalizing it, and posting it for sale. I'm not a big blogger or very experienced one so I'll do my best to have at least one post per month. If I have more time on my hands, along with content to post, I'll always make an effort to get it out there. Being it is the beginning of a new year I have decide to start a few new accounts on other websites. If you are interested in what I'm producing you can always try searching "CEFrusher" in any web browser and see what turns up. I am pretty sure I am the only C.E.Frusher out there for now. Below are a few websites I've started accounts on.

Society6.com - C.E.Frusher
Etsy.com - CEFrusherArtwork
Facebook.com - CEFrusher

I will post updates as the sites become more active in my artist career. If you feel I need to check out another website, send me a link, please do. I'm am interested in starting a strong online presence so people may search for my artwork and purchase it at their leisure. Feel free to comment on any post I make, be it question, concern, or opinion. Keep it clean for respect to other viewers. I am also looking for followers to subscribe to this blog. Please take a moment, if you haven't already, and join my email list. Thank you for your time and Happy New Year!
